This rare pendant was designed by Paavo Tynell and produced by Idman in Finland. This model K3-43 was produced in the early 1950s and came with a range of shades including fabric shades and the more rare lamellar wood shades.

The fixture consists of a white opal glass shade in a round bell shape, resulting in a pleasant soft and diffused light distribution. The light brown coolie shaped shade resting on the glass is made of very light strips of lamellar wood. This original shade demonstrates the refined level of craftsmanship of Idman’s production, as the delicate wooden strips are intricately woven together in a louvre construction. When the light is turned on, this creates a beautiful atmospheric effect.

The lamp is in excellent original condition. The drop down cable can be replaced to place the lamp at another height if necessary. Each lamp uses a regular E27 bulb.
