This rare lounge chair was designed by Kurt Østervig and produced by the Danish manufacturer Rolschau Møbler in 1958. The design is characterized by the round seat shell, mounted on a striking sled like base in stained oak. The chair has been fully reconditioned and newly upholstered in a sand colored, naturally curly Australian sheepskin. This gives the Minimalist design a wonderful texture and a sense of warmth.

References: The model 57A chair was presented at the Købestævnet exhibition in Fredericia, Denmark in 1958. The chair is also illustrated in the ‘God Form’ exhibition catalogue, 1958, Fredericia, p. 34.
