This striking table lamp was designed by Giovanni Banci in the 1970s. It was produced by his company Banci in Florence, Italy. The design is marked by the rectangular base executed in a solid Rosso Venato Dolomite marble. This particular marble has distinct red veins and polished edges throughout. The patinated brass fitting is mounted on top of the marble base. The geometric element of the base is repeated in the rectangular shape of the shade. The original shade has been renewed with a new fabric in a vermillion colored fabric. This allows for a soft and pleasant light distribution. The top cover closing off the shade is removable.

The lamp base is in very good original condition, the shade has been renewed. Currently with a 220V European plug.
