This rare pair of lounge chairs was designed by Eric Bertil Karlén and produced by his company Firma Rumsinteriör in Sweden in the 1940s. The elegant shape of the design is emphasized by the buttoned wing shaped back and seat. The elm wood frame consists of single side slats and tapered legs. The chairs have been newly upholstered in a light sand colored ‘Deauville’ jacquard fabric by Créations Métaphores. This natural and nicely textured fabric is a linen and wool blend which has been finished with a stain repellent treatment.
